Santur's mission is to enable next generation
optical networks by providing innovative, reliable and affordable
optical components. Optical networks
provide the communications backbone of all data and voice traffic
throughout the world. As we become increasingly interconnected
the demand for this optical bandwidth has skyrocketed, growing
approximately 50% per year over the last decade. These networks
are enabled by optical components that generate, route and amplify
the signals on the network. Santur provides the critical optical
components that power the network. Santur’s
strategy is to effectively integrate the most reliable and manufacturability
technologies from the fields of optics, semiconductor processing,
electronics, and packaging to provide value to our customers.
Our uniqueness comes from our insight into which combinations
of technologies will allow us to provide high performance at
reasonable cost. The technological breakthrough is in the method
used to combine or select one element of the array and the low-cost
packaging technology that obviates the need for operator-mediated
active alignment.
