FREMONT, CA – February 24, 2004 – Santur Corporation, a leading manufacturer of reliable, cost-effective source laser components for the telecommunications industry, today announced a supply agreement with Opnext, Inc., a global leader in high performance optical modules and components, to provide lasers for full C-Band widely tunable transponders, as well as other subsystems.

Under the agreement, Santur will supply lasers for the Opnext TRV family of products. The Opnext TRV series of 2.5G and 10G SERDES transceivers (transponders) with MUX/DMUX (SERDES) capabilities features either 1310 or 1550nm wavelengths and supports both WDM and non-WDM applications. The series enables a dense-port and high throughput solution due to its compact size and low power consumption. The TRV series can be used in various network applications, such as dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems, metropolitan area network (MAN) systems, and Internet Protocol (IP) switches and routers.
