Byron Trop Joins Santur as Vice President of Sales

FREMONT, CA – November 17, 2004 – Santur Corporation, a leading manufacturer of reliable and cost-effective laser products for the telecommunications industry, today announced the appointment of Byron Trop as Vice President of Sales. Byron joins Santur from Bookham, where he served as the VP of Sales for over 3 years. During this time, he built a world-class sales team that contributed greatly to Bookham’s success and emergence as an industry leading optical components supplier, growing from a few million in quarterly revenue to more than $40M/quarter.

Byron began his career as a Naval Officer serving in Nuclear Submarines. From there he has assumed roles of increasing responsibility in Sales and Marketing with several companies including Raychem Corporation and another Bay-Area Telecommunications start-up company, WaveSplitter Technologies.

“We are very pleased that Byron has joined the Santur team,” said Dr. Richard Craig, CEO of Santur Corporation. “His proven track record in growing sales and sales leadership will be key to the success of our company.”

“I am excited to join Santur as the company emerges as a leading laser technology provider to the Telecommunications Industry,” said Byron. “Santur is uniquely positioned to provide full-band tunable laser solutions that fit current needs to drive cost out of the network while also meeting future industry challenges for agile networks.”
