FREMONT, CA – March 8, 2005 – Santur Corporation, a vertically integrated optical components manufacturer and the leading manufacturer of widely tunable source lasers for telecommunications, today announces the availability of high-speed 1310 and 1550 nm directly-modulated laser (DML) sources. These devices are capable of uncooled operation up to 95C with state-of-the-art optical power and efficiency. The new DML chip products are suitable for SONET/SDH, gigabit Ethernet, metro access, and datacom applications. These products are typically sold as tested, bare die in high volumes for packaging into TOSAs for SFP and XFP transceivers, for example.
