CA – October 10, 2006 – Santur
Corporation, the leading manufacturer of reliable
tunable laser products for the global telecommunications
industry, today announced the appointment of Scott
Burroughs to Vice President of Engineering. Scott
is a telecom industry veteran with over 28 years
of experience in the optical components industry.
He joins Santur from Optovia Corporation, where he
served as the VP of Component Technologies. Prior
to that, he was VP of Operations at Nortel Networks,
where he provided leadership to the CoreTek division
engaged in the manufacture of tunable lasers and
tunable filters.
Scott started his career at AT&T, where he made
many technical and business contributions to their
Optical Components business. Scott was later recruited
to Lasertron, where he led the development of new
DFB laser designs and where he led the successful
transfer of the licensed 980 nm pump technology from
IBM Zurich into manufacture at Lasertron.
