Santur Introduces Full Band Tunable Lasers with Integrated Modulator — Santur Continues to develop leading edge products for telecommunications

FREMONT, CA – July 18, 2007 – Santur Corporation, the leading manufacturer of reliable tunable lasers for the global telecommunications industry, today announced that they have introduced Integrated Tunable Transmitter Assemblies (ITTA) using Santur’s Tunable Laser Mach Zehnder Modulator transmitter (TLMZ) as the key component. For users interested in module level products, the ITTA, which includes control electronics is available. For users that are interested in more compact designs, the TLMZ at the butterfly level is the best choice.

The ITTA and TLMZ are a new generation of compact C- and L-band widely tunable 10Gb/s modulated transmitters. They integrate Santur’s widely tunable DFB array technology with a semiconductor Mach-Zehnder modulator. The integrated assembly provides for a highly efficient, small form factor assembly that can replace discrete CW lasers and LiNbO3 modulator in many applications.

Ideally suited for use in a wide variety of DWDM systems, the Santur ITTA or TLMZ provides the best combination of performance features available. They offer a unique combination of modulated optical power, wide tunability, and excellent modulation characteristics. Excellent performance characteristics, reliability, ease of manufacture, and economies of scale derived from Santur’s exclusive, proven design, differentiate this product from others in the industry.

About Santur Corporation
Headquartered in Fremont, California, Santur Corporation is the world’s leading vertically integrated manufacturer of high-performance tunable lasers for metro and long-haul WDM systems. The company’s patented DFB-array technology enables the fabrication of broadly tunable sources at the same high performance as fixed wavelength sources. Santur’s products have set a new standard in the industry with their unique combination of high-power achieved without the use of a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), wide tunability with no possibility of mode hops, stability in harsh environments, Telcordia GR-468 reliability and value.
