In today’s
information technology world optical networks are key
enablers of communications networks, allowing people
to rapidly transmit vast amounts of crucial information
across both great and small distances. For carriers,
such as AT&T, Qwest,
and Sprint, the economics of these
new optical networks requires a shift from fixed DWDM
(dense wavelength division multiplexing) to flexible
DWDM networks, which require high-performance tunable
optical devices and modules from Santur
that they can rapidly provision through software.
As is the case for electronics, the technical difficulty
and cost of an array of components has only a marginal
complexity and cost increase compared to the fabrication
of a single unit. With the power of integration of
optical and electronic devices, Santur is developing
a family of opto-electronic products to meet the needs
of next generation optical networks.
Introducing the Series 2000 products: OIF tunable
laser MSA compliant, high performance widely tunable
laser sources for advanced optical networking systems.
These devices provide up to 20mW of power over the
entire C-Band (36 nm), and offer the high spectral
fidelity required by high data rate, metro or long-haul
DWDM fiber optic transmission systems.

Santur welcomes your interest in our
widely tunable laser products. Detailed spec sheets (in
PDF format) are available by contacting marketing@santurcorp.com.
