Tunable CW Lasers
Tunable lasers are available in the component (butterfly) or in the module form. The module consists of the butterfly and the tunable laser control electronics. This enables customer to choose between lower cost of ownership buying at the component level and shorter development time using the module form. Use of tunable lasers at the component level offers the most economical solution. It also requires the smallest amount of transponder board space. Reference designs for the laser control electronics to help new customers are available upon request. Custom designs for OEM applications maybe available.
